ABOUT PAGE

Hi! I’m Nia, and I completely love flowers! My love is pretty obsessive, you could say. You’ll always find me with a pair of clippers in my purse and some fresh picked flowers - usually hibiscus - on the dashboard of my car.

I like to think that my flower geekness runs in my DNA. My great-great-grandma Chrila Lowrey was one of the seven women who started the Outdoor Circle of Hawaii back in 1912. There general purpose was to “work for a more beautiful Honolulu.” A beautiful Hawaii, free of billboards and other eyesores, and covered from mountains to sea with green trees and bright flowers.

In 2008 I attended college in San Luis Obispo, Calif. I started out in interior design, but quickly dropped that path and worked at a flower shop instead. Story on that here.  I was born on O’ahu and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i where beauty is everywhere. And it’s what drives my undeniable passion. I pour so much love and creative juices into each piece I make that I almost always feel like I’m going to burst with happiness and turn into a flower myself.

My love for beauty and art goes as far back as I can remember. I was always lost when people would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I tried so many different types of jobs. But my father’s famous line was, “when you know it, you will just go for it.”

Flowers were always a theme in my life, and I’m surprised I didn’t realize it sooner. Love is the word for it, but necessity is even better. I need to create on a daily basis, and when I do, I feel in full bloom.
